M.A.C for Fafi- clue?

In Sept, Badgley Mischka 's Spring/Summer '08 Make-up showcased beautiful fucshia lips created by MAC from cream color bases and on WWD.com's MAC backstage updates listed MAC Eyeshadow in All That Glittters from the MAC for Fafi collection... interesting.

Review: YSL Touche Eclat vs. MAC Studio Lights

In the left corner, we have YSL's Touche Eclat. Tested and approved by all Beauty Editors and Beauty buffs alike. Its easy application and coverage makes this a great highlighter and concealer. Pronounced- "Toosh Eh Claw" and currently has 4 shades.

In the right corner, we have MAC Cosmetic's Studio Lights. This wand was introduced last year as part of the Catherine Deneuve collection, went into hiding and emerged with some friends (5 in total).

They both have the same function- making you flawless. But not all products that claim the same are made or more-less treated the same.

User-Friendliness- goes to YSL, the brush applicator is great for on the go. I like MAC's doe-foot applicator but it reminds me of their other products...say lipglass?

Shade Selection- Hands down MAC. Plus they are readily available at all the counters. I heard that YSL doesn't readily stock their #4's. I think that if they did- Beauties of color would have a chance to try something great. On another note- since the Studio Lights are Limited Edition- stock up before the end of the year.

Consistency- YSL is a bit more opaque and quite thick for a highlighter concealer, though you get great coverage from Studio Lights.. this one is a tie.

Price- MAC. You can't beat .17 ml, $14.50 for Studio Lights compared to .1 oz, $39.50 for Touche Eclat.

Winner- M.A.C

Happy Birthday to Me

Ok, so I am late so it's more like Happy Belated Birthday since the official date was November 22nd. Woo hoo!
I had a great time with friends and family this Thanksgiving!
Black Friday... was another story. I wasn't out to shop at 4am... I shopped at 8am and was vastly disappointed.
Yes, there was the Victoria's Secret 2 for $20 Very Sexy Collection deal but I was in a wasteland being trampled by early birds at Fashion Valley Mall.

I am happy to report my love for Christian Lacroix Rouge that I received on Thursday. I adore it. This is the woodsy, warmth fragrance that I have been looking for. I love the citrus notes, its definitely one I can interchange with my MAC Creations MV1.

Preview: MAC in 2008

be good...really good.
Word on the street is Heatherette for MAC in Feb/March and that it's a full collection with Metallic Hot Pink. Side question: Judging by Heatherette's S/S '08 runway show ( 10 Beauty's of Color opening the show) will the pink be BOC friendly? I sure do hope so. Side question #2: Will Amanda Lepore be the spokesmodel? Wouldn't whe be perfect considering MAC's moto ( paraphrasing ( all ages, races and sexes)).

As the MAC Cosmetics year closes out..next year promises to
In addition to Heatherette for MAC, Fafi for MAC. The French design borderline risqué cartoon novelties will have a collection with MAC as well.
It's so nice to see them digging back into their indie roots... this year's Barbie for MAC kinda scared me there for a bit.

The Angels have landed!

Yes, The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2007 is actually filming today but will air on December 4th. I'm also excited to watch.
Why? Because:
1.I love all the remixed catwalk music.
2. The great holiday ideas for your lingerie ( who knew that you can revive so things in your boudoir with some ribbons and extra lace.
3. The fact that this year I have counted ( so far) 4 beauties of color! Selita and Oluchi ( from 2005 and 2006) and now we have our Beauté du Jour Noemi Lenoir and Maybelline's new spokesmodel Jessica White! I'm over the moon.
4. MAKEUP, MAKEUP, MAKEUP!
Can't wait to recreate the looks!

Rocawear Beauté?

WWD.com reports that Arden just inked a beauty deal with Rocawear (owned by Jay-Z).
Are we ready for a lipgloss named "Hov"? Probably not. But I can see some grooming for the gents.. I'm curious to see what they have for the ladies.

Colette loves Jeremy Scott loves LA!

Paper magazine is Lovin' LA this week. Wednesday night I had the pleasure of going to Colette's Thriller Dance Party hosted by Jeremy Scott and Paper Magazinein LA at the Montmarte Lounge in Hollywood. I had a blast! Sir. Ryan Heffington taught us all the dance moves to the now 25 year old iconic song and video. Sarah and Nadege of Colette were the kindest and sweetest women in the room and the vibe of the night was sans precocious. BTW..can you spot me in any of these pics? ( hint , I'm wearing a pretty sweet headband)
To top it off- MAC Cosmetics was the sponsor so we had a beavy of zombies ready to get their Russian Red and Diva lipsticks ready to Rock Steady.
Thank you Jeremy
Merci Sarah and Nadege
Thank you Ryan Heffington
Thanks Paper Magazine
