Chanel Khaki Brun
Now presenting the long waiting Fashion's Night Out exclusive, the Chanel Khaki collection ( well, 1/3 of it). On September 10th, amidst the hoopla of FNO and a sighting by Rafael Nadal on 52nd street. I waltzed into Saks Fifth Avenue to scoop out the collection after my journey to Chanel's Madison Ave location. Saks had all three polishes in stock but no testers, so I picked up Khaki Vert ( swatches coming soon) and Khaki Brun. After my purchases I headed to Washington Square to meet up with the girls and share my FNO purchase. Everyone came to the consensus after comparing the polishes that Khaki Brun was an instant fave.
Why? Khaki Vert is army green and I think its harder to pull off than Jade green unless you are wearing warmer tones. I currently have Khaki Vert on my toes and while it complements my tone, I heel like its not an "everyday" nail color to sport- but then again remember when Jade had this dilemma? Since I wear more black on occasion, Jade gives my nails its "pop" needed.
But I digress, Khaki Brun is an earthy stone medium brown with a touch of mossy green that is about 3 touches deeper than Particuliere, which is currently my color of the year.
Khaki Brun is a bit more forgiving whether you are wearing a warm or cool tones, so my black and white ensembles aren't instantly put-off by the color.
Khaki Rose was a challenge for me because upon seeing the color, I thought of terracotta wall paper reminiscent of an old house that I grew up in.
Anyway, this FNO surprise by Chanel was great in all its glory, It reminded me of the Paris Vogue issue that was devoted to the military trend with Rose Cordero on the cover ( March 2010). However, I think the Chanel Soho collection was a better fit for Fashion's Night Out theme- both Strong and Steel , sadly I was not able to get ahold of .

Style.com celebrates 10 years with designer T-shirts!
Yesterday I checked out Style.com's Pop-up shop in Madison Square Park for their limited edition 10 year anniversary t-shirts. All shirts are made by Loomstate and are designed by Balmain, Lanvin Rodarte, Givenchy,Calvin Klein, Rick Owens, Proenza Schouler and Prada.
After seeing Style.com staffers sporting the tee's I picked up the Prada one. I'm actually surprised its Prada because it looks so graphic but its right up my alley.
These are available on style.com today for $45 a pop and are going fast!

Fashion's Night Out: Betsey Johnson Party
Fashion's Night Out: Soho Chanel Unveiling and Kiki de Montparnasse
Chanel Soho was the place to be and I got there early, sadly I was turned away from purchasing- they opened to the pub at 6pm. Though when I went back later they had shots of Soho on a huge LCD screen and staffers tagging mini lcd screens in the cordoned areas. The line to get in the store at 7pm was about 200 deep. So we made our way to Betsey Johnson.

Fashion's Night Out 2010 pics!: Chanel Khaki Collection at Saks
Walking down a few blocks before meeting the girls was nice, plus I was tipped off that Saks had the Khaki collection in full stock. Next I made my way to the Tom Ford counter for some truffles and to finally view the lipstick collection before making my way to soho.

Soho de Chanel Swatches
Soho de Chanel is the exclusive highlighter/blush compact that boasts a raised Soho embossed in the powder.
The color trio contains a light gold- champaign color, a light pink highlighter and a light plum shimmery blush.
Enjoy the swatches!
From Left to Right: Light Plum, Light Pink and Light Gold
Soho de Chanel Blended
I will post Stunt Rouge Allure Laque soon. I'm waiting to take the pics in natural light. With the flash my lips look like I was wearing a creamy light white lavender lipstick- which is definitely not what this color looks like in everyday wear.

5 beauty products to share with dudes
Oh Grooming, I've been meaning to follow-up on the piece I wrote from a while back on a list of 5 products to keep away from dudes. I was reminded this week by my colleague that I needed to do more " Guy's Stuff" grooming, tips, etc. Well my answer, It's coming!Fashion Week starts this week as well howver, I'm not going to skimp out you dudes out there. In this chapter two is a bonafide list of things we women need to share - provided the guy either bums these off of you from behind your back ( brothers, roomies) or you want to enjoy a lazy afternoon watching a film and "doing beauty/ grooming" together.
Tea Tree Shampoo-
Aka- the "tingly stuff" is an age-old product that guys love. They love it so much, they describe the effect and don't remember the name. The effect is great, the smell is relaxing and since there are plenty to choose from on the market- you don't have to worry when your bottle goes missing.
A bonus- guys think that tingling sensations means its working and less work for them is a plus- am I right?

Fashion's Night Out 2010 Scavenger Hunt
Fashion's Night Out is this friday and since there is one billion things to do in NYC, I decided to come up with a scavenger hunt!
Chanel Soho- I'm really excited about the re-opening on the Chanel Soho store on the 10th, any chance for me to see Karl Lagerfeld would be a dream! While I'm in Soho, I can pop into Korres and see what's going on. Last year Korres had great FNO makeup demo's and it wasn't too crowded.
I'll also have to be on the lookout for the VanLeewen Icecream truck for their Cinnamon scoop! Hopefully, I'll have a Heartschallenger spotting as well.
Next I'll be off to 42nd street Sephora to check out the launch of YSL's Couture Lipsticks! Can't wait, meet and swatch in person. Then onward and upward to Midtown for a Bryanboy siting and Bergdorf Goodman's and finish up the night at Barney's playing musical chairs or singing karaoke.
I hope all goes as planned if not more and will update next weekend

Lanvin for H&M?
photo: Style.com
The interwebs are abuzz today after H&M gave a teaser of their new designer collabs. Many fashionable resources ( The Cut, Fashionologie, Bryanboy) are dropping Lanvin's name as the next H&M collaboration.
Lanvin for the price of a Ricky's wig, are you Siri?
I just posted my lemming for the Lanvin leopard dress that was spotted on Colette but jeez, this would be amazing! I would camp out in Mid-town for this.
Now if only we can get a Christian Lacroix for Target or H&M going...

Wednesday Love: Lanvin Leopard print dress
After this past weekend's sweltering uptick in temperature, I'm wondering- Are there fall? its me, Lacroix. Along with this question, I open every Sept issue or style guide to see animal print everything- pumps, kitten heels, scarves, belts and the like. Specifically, leopard print.
While browsing around on a monday evening, I escaped onto Colette's website- which has change drastically since the last time I've been on it. Not only did I not know that the shop now features luxury designers great fall fashion inspiration but I clicked upon this Lanvin leopard dress- just beautiful! Very clean, classic and timeless- what's drawing me back? oh, the pricetag of about $800. yeah.
But this minor setback won't stop me from finding this dress, it might not be Lanvin but I'm sure enough to find a Lanvin inspired dress that will las for a few seasons to come. As a start to fall leopard fashion, I did buy a long sleeve Victoria's Secret PINK leopard print sweater that I picked up at the Soho Store. I can't wait to pair it with a long full skirt and my YSL pumps.
